Cufflinks - A Touch of Class

Cufflinks on men are like earrings on women; a nice finishing touch; subtle, but noticeable.  And these happen to be from an interesting new shop, Todd Reed, located on Abbott-Kinney in Venice, California, one of the coolest streets in the world.  Cool kinda industrial chic look.

Viagra for Car Lovers

The Mercedes-AMG GT S. It is unconscionably expensive. And if you don't go to Hell for spending over $130K on a car, you're sure to burn for buying a car that still burns gas; and, no doubt, quite a bit of it. But like that hot woman that you knew would burn you, you just can't say no.

Lovely Lacoste Sweater

Worth $265? Not to us, but, then again, we're cheap. But the grey and white is a nice look.

Briefcase or Backpack?

We tend to be briefcase guys, thinking of packpacks as for kids doing cheap tours of Europe.  But then again, we're old school. This Italian firm, PIQUADRO, has a huge selection of fashionable backpacks and breifcases. Not cheap by any means, but also not crazy designer expensive.

Taking Flight with Cadet

That title sounds a bit too much like a sorry ad, right? But the jacket looks pretty cool, and for $395 the price is reasonable.

The Ugliest Shoes Ever - and Vogue Loves them!

These fur lined loafers from Gucci are the worst look of the season - and a must have for Vogue editors.  Which may explain the current state of the fashion industry. From Vogue.com:

Gucci’s Hybrid Loafer Is the It Shoe of Fall 2015 - Vogue

So it comes as no surprise that the chief item on Vogue.com’s shopping list was those fur-lined loafers: A grand total of five staffers had it down as a must-buy for fall.....Gucci’s Hybrid Loafer Is the It Shoe of Fall 2015 - Vogue.  Explains Vogue Creative Digital Director Sally Singer. “It’s just such a brilliant bourgeois signature—and these are both arch and fluffy.”

So Young Man, You Wake Up and Wonder?

How can I look sloppy today, like I just don't care? Sweatpants - check. And some pink, to show my feminine side? Jacket - check.  And spend a lot of money on the whole thing, cause, y'know, daddy left me a bunch, and what the Hell, gotta blow it. Bottega Veneta has your back - check.

How Many Bad Ideas Can You Put on One Man?

1) A dark striped shirt with a dark striped suit is a bad idea

2) Using the same design on the tie as on the shirt and suit is a bad idea

3) Whatever that is - an apron? - is a very bad idea

4) The head dress is the worst idea of all.

How long did the guys at Givenchy have to work to take a good looking young man and make him look like a joke?

A Very Nice Looking Cardigan

Would we spend over $1,000 on a cardigan, even a cashmere one? Certainly not.  Is it comfortable? No idea, really, but looks pretty comfy. But if we were going to spend big money on a sweater in a temporary fit of insanity, we might get this one from the Elder Statesman.

It's 113 Degrees - Do I Need a Fur Coat Right Now?

We received this ad in the mail at our office in Phoenix in late June. As we looked at it, we checked the temperature - 113 degrees. It will be inferno like hot here for another 4 months. Why, exactly, are they sending us this ad now? Or, for that matter, why are they sending this ad to addresses in Phoenix, where it rarely dips below 60? Everyone thinks these big fashion companies are very slick, but maybe not so much.
