Lovely Lacoste Sweater

Worth $265? Not to us, but, then again, we're cheap. But the grey and white is a nice look.

A Very Nice Looking Cardigan

Would we spend over $1,000 on a cardigan, even a cashmere one? Certainly not.  Is it comfortable? No idea, really, but looks pretty comfy. But if we were going to spend big money on a sweater in a temporary fit of insanity, we might get this one from the Elder Statesman.

Which Pair of Sandals cost $30, and which $750?

One pair is by Adidas and one by Valentino. Can you tell which cost $750 and which cost $30? Next question: If you buy the pair for $750, is there a brain in your head?

P.S. The Valentinos for $750 are the plainer ones on the bottom.

Having Just Cured Cancer, What Next?

Okay, so you just cured cancer - not just one, but pretty much the whole batch. It was exhausting, but you made enough money to retire the national debt, which you plan to give away in an intelligent way. But, that's for later. Right now, you're tired, sick of giving media interviews, and you've had enough of the Columbian models - for the moment. You feel the obligation to do something decadent and selfish. Just once. So you order these sweatpants by Sacai designer Chitose Abe for $576. Crazy price, and stupid any other time, but, as we mentioned, you did just cure cancer, so it's okay. Then you're going to put them on and climb into bed.

So you're in a natural, organic mood, but looking for something different?

Not for everyone we'll admit, but we can pretty much guarantee that you won't see a bunch of ladies wearing the same thing.

Considering a new Gender?

Let's say you're a woman, but thinking of becoming a man. Or vice versa.  But, hey, it's a hard decision with a lot of things to consider.  Bruce Jenner on the one hand...... your mother's point of view on the other. The use of precious medical resources to perpetrate a crime against nature while children die for lack of medical care against ...well...something.

In any event you'll need something to wear while you ponder this decision...and this is just the sort of thing...Not really for men, and not really for women...

Is this watch about honoring Schumacher, or just about the money?

Okay, we get that the guys at Audemars Piguet spent a long time - 3 years - developing a watch that could time consecutive laps on the race course, per racing legend and spokesperson Micheal Schumacher's request. And the people who worked on the watch want to see their work made visible, like all good craftsmen.
And we get that Schumacher's family is spending a fortune on his recovery, since his near fatal skiing accident in late 2013. But a watch that celebrates "pushing limit's" by a man who pushed the limits so hard that he is now in a wheelchair and trying to regain basic speech and memory functions? Really?

Putting aside the ethical issues of a watch that costs $229,500 - are there really  221 people who will buy a watch like this at that price? Hard to believe. And finally we'll note that, as you can see, the watch is not very easy to read, and kinda ugly. It's a strange world in which we live.

Is this modern art or the bottom of a pair of sneakers?

We saw these while browsing a Nike store in Phoenix.  Okay, we get that Steve Jobs liked the inside of his products to look elegant, although no one would ever see them. But do the bottom of a pair of running shoes really need to look this good? Are you going to pound pavement in them or hang them on the wall?

Keep the Bastards Guessing!

We're always mildly amused when we see a woman, or man, like this. Note the tasteful, traditional blouse and skirt. And the green hair.  The beauty of this sort of look is that it can all be changed easily.  She could slip on a new outfit to match the hair, or just wash her hair and end up looking completely traditional. So she leaves herself a lot of options. Unlike, say, a tat.

Do we Need Beautiful Soles on the Bottom of our Running Shoes?

We were browsing through the local Nike store in Scottsdale when we came across these sneakers. The soles are beautiful, like a work of art. But this is the part that hits the ground, right? Like, a million times or so for a serious runner. Do we need the soles of our shoes to be this pretty? Do we need running shoes to be pretty at all? Maybe we should just, like, run and sweat in them, and not worry so much about pretty?
