The driver was trying, without luck, to cook the food his mother once made, the dishes of his youth. “The man said, ‘I’m a better cook, I have better ingredients and techniques and time on my hand to experiment but still it never tastes as good as hers.’ So he asked her, ‘Mommy, why does my food not taste as good?’ And she told him, ‘Because when you were young we were hungry. This is the spice that makes the difference. ”
