Most media stories about China focus on business and economics, and, recently, the stumbles of the Chinese stock market. But don’t forget that China is still a totalitarian regime that is ruthless about stifling criticism, even if that extends to kidnapping, imprisoning, and possibly killing dissidents in Hong Kong.
