Total Cost of the White House Office (Budget estimate 2010)

Committee recommendation 2010 (passed by the House July 16, 2009).

  • The ‘Salaries and Expenses’ account of The White House (previously title ‘The White House Office’) provides staff assistance and administrative services for the direct support of the President. The office also serves as the President’s representative before the media. In accordance with 3 U.S.C. 105, the office also supports and assists the activities of the spouse of the President.

$1,400,000 shall be allocated to the Office of National AIDS Policy.

The budget requests that funding for the Office of Policy Development be included in funds appropriated under this heading. The Office of Policy Development supports the National Economic Council and the Domestic Policy Council in carrying out their responsibilities to advise and assist the President in the formulation, coordination, and implementation of economic and domestic policy.
