Election Campaign Related Travel

2006:
Projected Estimate Only – Our source only estimates this figure as it was published before 2006. Up to date data welcomed. If the President and Vice-President conducted campaign travel in 2006 similar to that in 2002, the costs were estimated to be $7 million.

2002:
Between January 1 2002 and Election Day on November 5 2002, the President Bush and Vice President Cheney used military transport, including Air Force One and Two, to make at least 83 campaign related trips. The total estimated cost of this is $6.5 million, however, an estimated $198,000 of this was reimbursed, leaving tax payer to fund $6.3 million.
