There is a tidal wave of media in every format; books in various formats, movies, cable on demand, network television, websites, mobile apps, magazines, streaming video; but all can best be summarized by Bruce Springsteens song “57 Channels and Nothing on”.  In terms of being drowned by trash and temped by mindless  media; reality shows, tabloid websites, rap music – we live in the worst of times. But it’s also the Best of Times, if you dig deep enough, you can find many, many great sources of intelligent entertainment at very affordable prices, often delivered right to your door (or mobile phone).
