“I'd set out to photograph mating fish and had been following a par of devil scorpionfish for over an hour, watching as the male tried to impress the female by shuffling and vibrating his body. However, he clearly didn't make the grade, as the female promptly struck out at the smaller male as he passed in front of her, swallowing him headfirst. I was lucky enough to shoot a few frames before the male disappeared into the stomach of his cannibalistic partner.”
