Soaring, and Souring, in Postseason Spotlight

LOS ANGELES — The Kings’ Justin Williams, a decent offensive producer in the regular season, is a monster during the playoffs. The Rangers’ Rick Nash, a big-ticket goal scorer in the regular season, has been virtually unable to score in the postseason.

Nash and Williams reprised their roles Wednesday in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals at Staples Center. Nash fired three shots, which goalie Jonathan Quick stopped, and another attempt flew wide. Williams also had three shots on goal, but his last one beat Henrik Lundqvist in overtime to give the Kings a 3-2 victory.
