Feds Get Paid $2 Billion During Shutdown!

Did you feel sorry for those poor federal government workers during the government shutdown? No need; it was just another paid vacation for them.
From the Financial Times:

“The US government spent $2bn on wages of federal workers who were on leave during last month’s shutdown, according to a new report by the White House budget office that sought to highlight the costs of last month’s fiscal stand-off. Although the employees were on unpaid leave at the time, they were paid retroactively under the terms of the deal to end the shutdown.”

Not only are federal government workers paid approximately twice as much as private sector employees, they have excellent government benefits, vacation time, medical plans – and a few extra weeks of paid vacation every time the government runs out of money!
