TRAITORS AND VICTIMS!

Jim Nicholson betrayed his country. Jim Nicholson took money, and in return put the lives of his colleagues in danger.

Jim Nicholson thinks he is a victim.

You’ve probably heard part of the story of Jim Nicholson, the highest ranking CIA officer ever to be convicted of espionage. But you may not have heard how unapologetic he is. In an age when every moral failure can be blamed on somebody else, Nicholson sees himself as a victim.

For about $300,000, Nicholson sold the Russians information about 300 CIA trainees. He also admits to providing the KGB with hundreds of secret documents. The information caused a huge amount of damage; careers were destroyed, thousands of man-years of training were wasted, agents were recalled from overseas.

Nicholson was working for the CIA and living in Malaysia, when, as he says, his “priorities changed.” As an American living and working abroad, he had a good life: a maid, a mistress, a luxurious lifestyle. Then he was transferred back to the US. Realizing that he needed some extra cash to maintain his lifestyle, Nicholson decided to turn traitor.

Of course, as a CIA agent, Nicholson was used to breaking the law: “When we work in the field, we do a lot of things that are illegal, but we almost always get away with it. Running agents, putting listening devices in houses, breaking into things. I sort of felt I was above it.”

Nicholson’s began his betrayal seven weeks after former CIA agent Aldrich Ames had been sentenced to life in prison for spying for Moscow. Ames had sold the identity of Soviet citizens working for the CIA, in return for $4.6 million. While Ames is alive and well-fed in prison, ten of the agents he betrayed are dead, executed by the Soviets.

Although Nicholson has pleaded guilty to espionage charges, he thinks the CIA is to blame. “They should have realized I was in trouble and intervened,” thinks the spy. Of course, the only trouble he was in was that he wanted a lot of money to deposit in
his Swiss bank account. As Robert Chestnut, one of the federal attorneys who prosecuted Nicholson, says, “So he encountered some financial difficulties. Who among us hasn’t?”

Nicholson also expected that, if he were caught, the CIA would simply convert him from a double agent to a triple agent. Thus, he was quite surprised that he was actually arrested.

Using some amazing, but quite modern, logic, Nicholson has also argued that because of his previous service to the country, he should have received a lighter sentence when he was caught working for the other side.

John Lewis, a FBI agent who helped to bust Nicholson, is troubled by the case: “Do we have a new breed of spy? This guy was not a loser. This is a new breed of cat. Is there a breakdown in morality?”

Nicholson has a good defense. It’s the prosecution that has morality upside down. What logic justifies cheating, breaking the law and even killing in the service of the state department and then condemns the same activities when done for any other reasons. Whence does the State Department get the authority to transform immoral and reckless behaviour into “patriotism”? Is God a consultant for the CIA?

Each alumnus of the “school of the assasins” were CIA taught “patriotic techniques” to Latin-American rogues caused much more damage and wrecked lives than Nicholson. Will the perpetrators ever be brought to justice?

Teach a man to fish and he will eat.
Teach a man to steal and he will eat.
Teach a man to become a fraud and he will eat.
What you teach a man to do, he will do.
Should you then judge him be a different set of values when he can’t readjust?
    HELL YES! Hang the Basta–

It is not just “modern morality” but modern institutions which lead to social evils. The public schools of our country provide immoral training in a kid of survival-of-the-fittest environment. Army and Marine Corps training teaches that it is morally right to kill civilians, to not take prisoners. Lawyers cannot practice law until the the law school has removed their consciences. Similarly, would-spies require CIA training to do things which would be abhorrent to normal, well-socialized people. To expect morality from CIA agents is to deny the corporate culture of the CIA.

We are reminded, not daily, not hourly, but momentarily, if we have the time to keep track, of what a failure the Democrat social experiment launched by FDR in the ’30’s, and given another obnoxious spin by LBJ’s “Great Society” in the ’60’s, has been. Generation after generation, we have seen the erosion of common sense values and morality. We’ve seen an absurd rise in social programs and ideologies spawned by mealy-mouthed, milquetoaste socialist experimenters in the public arena, while increasing numbers of the American citizenry, if they deserve that title, have been willing to sell out their families and country for material comfort, so easily forgetting their God-inspired heritage with such an insipid lack of gratitude for such a golden opportunity that is America. Nickelson, Lewinsky, Clinton, Rodham-Clinton, Stephanopolous – all are walking, talking, lying, conniving products of this social breakdown. Hollywood spews forth the bilge of its morally deficient worldview unceasingly, while potentially decent all-American individuals are self-poisoned through their own unwillingness to care about what they feed their minds. Will this spiral of disintegration slow and be reversed? There is hope that enough people with heart in this great republic can rise to the challenge, and with honest and noble effort restore a vision of pure freedom and liberty. There is hope, because I know them and of them, who can make a case for the truth, for good, for reality. God is in his heaven and holds us responsible for this earth, therefore we shall not fail Him.

AND SO…YES, NICHOLSON SHOULD BE TRIED AND EXECUTED AS A TRAITOR! BUT WHAT OF THE OTHER TRAITORS IN OUR GOVERNMENT? FOR EXAMPLE, THE WALKING, TALKING EXCREMENT THAT PROVIDES U.S. SOIL FOR A PROXY CORPORATION OF THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT. WHAT OF WACO? WHAT OF THE EXCREMENT MAKING DICTATS BY EXECUTIVE ORDER?

TRAITORS? YES WE HAVE TRAITORS APLENTY, WHILE MANY AMERICANS ARE SO LULLED, AND LETHARGIC, THEY CAN HARDLY RAISE THEIR HAND TO FLIP A FLY OFF THEIR NOSE!

JUST CHOP THAT CLOWNS HEAD OFF! I KNOW I’LL FEEL BETER WHEN HIS HEAD IS SEVERED! HAVE A GOOD DAY.

Anyone who betrays his country or spouce, boss, or friend’s confidence, should be drawn & quartered and be put away for eternity. There is no excuse for a betrayal especially when it’s for money.

Just because the Cold War is over with the former Soviet Union is no reason to abolish the CIA. There are many hot spots is this world which the US must keep watching so we are prepared for any future problem.

i think it is outrageous that jonathan pollard is stillin jail for supplying defensive information to israel. other spies caused the death of americans. they got less time and are walking free. pollard langushes in jail. it is not fair and it is outrageous

As an immigrant, who was never on the public trough, I feel that un-american scum such as him should simply be charged with treason, and executed. But.. here is another problem: How many of our so-called representatives in the Senate and/or Congress, that have deteriorated into an enclave of shyster lawyers, rather than be an actual reflection of the true hardworking middle-class Americans, are willing to give up their Jobs/ Perks/ Kickbacks/ Grafts/ Payoffs/ Rake-offs/ Speaking-engagements/ Million Dollar retirements, et.al., ( and these are just a fraction) to truly live up to the standards of the greatest piece of correct guidelines ever conceived by mortal mankind, and that is the ORIGINAL U.S. Constitution, and the ORIGINAL Bill of Rights. NO shyster lawyer, elected and/or appointed hack should violate this birthright of the American People, whether he is a so-called Congressman or a Senator. We can never dispute the U.S. Constitution, but we can add another items to complete this : Let us all respect GOD, the FLAG, the CONSTITUTION, and let us vote out the un-americans in our midst.

maybe the CIA should put their agents under house arrest after they return from overseas. At least for a period of time for safety sake.

Regarding your comment that the trouble he was really in was that he wanted a lot of money: Help! I think I’m in trouble too!

I am thinking the bible was right when it said.” The love of money is the root of all evil” Couldn’t said it better myself, when you will betray your coutry, love ones, the people who gave you what you had for 30 pieces of silver lets you know who’s company he has been keeping…

I would like to take that Agent and handcuff him to Slick Willie and blow them off the facce of the planet. I am so sick of Out of Integrity Pols and other scumbags.I’m 44 and this is not the way I thoought things were when I was growing up–maybe I should sue my parents for fraud!

The FBI agent who caught Nickelson must be very nieve to think that CIA agents were ever moral. After all what is their job, at least as a field agent ? They launder money, bug houses and offices, subvert governments, interfere with democratic electionsa, engage in terrorist acts, and bribe officials. I think that without the soviet union as a point of focus the CIA and its agents will be more engaged in Ccriminal activity. The CIA should be abolished. It is basically a criminal organization. It deserves to be abolished.

Somedays I’m glad they tossed my resume instead of reading it. I would have made a good spy — but a poor traitor, drug-smuggler, etc.

Some of the most distraught, disoriented and disappointed people I worked with were repatriates who returned from “glamorous” or “exotic” overseas assignments. It’s like a feeling of waking up one morning to find your kingdom reduced to a cheap condo. They took the coming home part as a hard fall from grace. Wake up my friends!! You’re back on Earth! And welcome home!

    Always Nosy
